“Working closely with Lynn Hunt, our partner at Visit Quad Cities, who has so capably hosted us four times previously going back to 2009, we explored every possible avenue to make this work,” said ISC Executive Director Larry Fisher.
“We want the ISC World Tournament to have the best men’s fastball teams and players and that just wasn’t going to be possible this year due to circumstances beyond our control. The reality is that there’s no way for us to conduct the World Tournament in a safe manner that doesn’t jeopardize the health of our players, officials and fans.”
With the ISC’s 75th Anniversary scheduled for Kitchener, ON in August 2021, the ISC Executive Committee has approved Quad Cities as host for the 2022 ISC World Tournament. “Lynn and her team at Visit Quad Cities are terrific partners and we look forward to being able to return to the Quad Cities,” said Fisher.
“This year has been challenging and disappointing for all involved in this tough decision, however, we have been laser focused on the safety and regulations in place by our government and health officials,” said Lynn Hunt, Visit Quad Cities Vice President, Business Growth & Service. “We also wanted to host a tournament that represented the prestigious and international component that makes the ISC World Tournament the best fastball competition in the world. We respect the decision of the ISC because we know they have the players safety as the top priority, and we are looking forward to hosting all the ISC teams, commissioners and fans in 2022.”
Should conditions permit, the ISC will look to hold its second annual ISC Winter-Invitational in January 2021 in the Kissimmee, FL area. Interested teams should contact Larry Fisher per below.
We continue to encourage all fastball teams, players and fans to follow the precautions and best practices recommended by our governments and public health experts.
The ISC extends its best wishes to all the individuals and communities who have been impacted by the virus and salutes the front-line workers who are caring for the sick and vulnerable across the globe.
