December 7, 2017 – Findlay, OH – Recent action by the Executive Committee of the International Softball Congress provides some relief to teams with youth or junior players on their rosters. According to Dean Oscar, ISC President and Executive Committee Chair the Committee voted to empower the appropriate VP, on a case by case by basis, to rule on any exception requests for younger or “junior” players to the ISC rule that requires ‘Approved out-of-region players on all ISC teams to play in at least one approved ISC Qualifying event or in invitational tournaments in both June and July, with their current year’s team to be eligible for World Tournament play.

This action should make it easier for players competing with their national teams in this years WBSC Junior tournament to meet the eligibility requirements to also compete with a team in the International Softball Congress World Tournament. All players and teams would still be subject to the June 15 Out-of-Region deadline as well as Out-of-Region fees and all PRAWN Restrictions.
