Mexico Players Require Visa to Enter Canada for ISC World Tournament

Blair Setford • March 9, 2024

Wait times are considerable, so players should apply now!

Please be advised that due to new Canadian federal government requirements, Mexican citizens travelling to Canada need to obtain a visitor visa or be eligible for electronic travel authorization to travel to Canada.

These new requirements are effective March 1, 2024. All Mexican players should take pro-active steps to ensure they have obtained the proper authorization to enter Canada in advance of the ISC World Tournament in August.

Additional information to apply for the visitor visa available is this Government of Canada link. As of March 9, it is estimated that the application process will take 41 days for Mexican citizens. Note that for Venezuelan players, for example, the estimated wait time is more than 90 days.

DO NOT leave this until the last minute. Note that fees are applicable when applying for the visitor visa, too.
