The ISC Legends tourney is entering its 9th year, started in 2010 by Larry Fisher, ISC Executive Director for the masters teams. It continues to be a very competitive and attracts 12 premier 50 + masters teams from North America each year.
The tourney offers great experience for the masters players and teams to play competitive games and renew past friendships with each other.
Cobourg Ontario Force won the first tourney and repeated in 2012 and 2014. Ohio Battery Ashland Ohio won the tourney 2013 and 2017, the only two teams winning multiple titles. The other winners are Cuba City WI Hindu’s/Sand Prairie 2011, Whitby Ontario Durham Bulls Legends 2015 and Toronto Ontario Toronto Gators Legends in 2016.
The 33rd annual Kelso Klassic (established in 1985) is June 9,10,11, 2017 and will be played at the Kelso City Park, located on Cherry St. in Kelso, MO. “We anticipate 14 teams, tremendous crowds, and great softball for fastpitch fans”, said Rick Heuring (Founder of the Kelso Klassic ).
“We have had many world class players come to Kelso, and although they have participated in places all over the country, they still think Kelso is right there at the top of the fastpitch venues when comparing competition, atmosphere, crowds, and overall organization”. Rick added that “The entire weekend is like a big tail-gate party. If we get good weather, we will draw around 2,000 fans for our Friday night session. Saturday night is also well attended.”
Rick has complete statistics for every player that has ever participated in the Kelso Klassic, now numbering 1,952 different individuals, since the tournament began in 1985. Rick has collected player profiles and photos from the past to build a history of fastpitch and the tournament. And according to Rick “We like to think that our information rivals that of the ISC”.
The ISC is very glad to once again have the ‘Kelso Klassic” as one of its ISC World Tournament Qualifiers !
December 13, 2016 – Saginaw, MI – The International Softball Congress is pleased to announce that it will be sponsoring three boys fastpitch softball championship tournaments on the weekend of July 21-23 in Saginaw, Michigan.
The ISC Developmental Championship Tournaments in the U14, U16 and U18 age groups marks a return for the ISC in sponsoring stand-alone youth events separate from the annual ISC World Tournament.
“With the outstanding boy’s fastpitch programs in Munger and Vasser, as well as the history of successful ISC developmental tournaments in Frankenmuth, this is the ideal area to hold these tournaments,” says ISC Executive Director Larry Fisher. Saginaw is 10-15 minutes from Frankenmuth and was the host of the 1981 ISC World Tournament.
“We’ve selected this weekend because there’s minimal conflict with any of the Ontario provincial events in these age groups, so we’d really like to see Ontario teams come and compete for an ISC championship,” added Fisher.
More information will be forthcoming as the committee of Tom Stasik, Del Benson, Don Petro and Pete Bouvy work out the details in the coming weeks.
The ISC is also planning a U21 Championship as part of the 2017 ISC World Tournament being held in Grand Rapids, MI., August 12-19.

May 2-8, 2016 is Mental Health Week in Canada. This serious, life-altering condition affects one in five Canadians and far too often, people suffer in silence, unwilling to ask for help because of the stigma around mental health problems.
The Ballpark Broadcasting/ISC Network team is producing a public service video this summer to support good mental health initiatives.
We need your help.
When your team is together at the park, use your phone or an iPad to take a video of your team saying: TRUST YOUR TEAMMATES!
Email the clip to Blair Setford and your team will be included in the PSA video to be debuted during the ISC World Tournament in August.
Our game of fastball is a team game. We need to encourage any teammates who may be suffering in silence to trust that asking for help means wanting to make positive changes. To take steps towards new mental health goals.
Getting help is part of recovery.
We look forward to seeing contributions from across North America and hopefully from around the world!
