The International Softball Congress is pleased to announce the players, administrator and Bob Welby Memorial Award recipient that have been nominated for induction into the ISC Hall of Fame at the 2027 ISC World Tournament in Saskatoon, SK.
Players Stephen Mullaley, Jason Sanford and Tim Mazza, ISC Vice President Blair Setford and manager/contributor Tom Wagner.
Stephen Mullaley, Freshwater, NL, started his 17-year career as a teenager in Michigan. He was an All-World player seven times and won six ISC World Tournament Championships, the first two with the Kitchener Rivershark Twins. Steve was a premier power hitter throughout his career. Originally an outfielder with a strong arm, Steve made the move to first base in the early 2010s, working hard to become one of the top defenders in the game, joining the Hill United Chiefs where he won four championships between 2013 and 2021.
Jason Sanford, Central Caribou, NS, excelled behind the plate for over a decade, as one of the top catchers in the ISC. Jason is one of only four catchers in ISC history to earn First Team All-World status in four consecutive years, those being 2014-2017. He helped lead the Hill United Chiefs to four ISC World Tournament Championships between 2013 and 2019. Jason also won ISC championships with Kitchener Rivershark Twins and the Jarvis Travelers, finishing his career with six titles, along with three second-place finishes and two fourth-place results.
Tim Mazza, Bakersfield, CA was one of the top shortstops in the game in the heydays of the 1970s and early 1980s. He played in six ISC World Tournaments and was named to the First Team All World three times, in 1979 with Ed Smith Welding and in 1980 with Dave Frye Plastering, both from Bakersfield and in 1981 with the Lancaster Chameleons. A standout in the Western Fastpitch Congress, Tim’s quickness and arm strength were at the top of the game.
Blair Setford, Mississauga, ON, joined the ISC in 2003. Working with Bob McGowan in the ISC II division initially, Blair has been involved in the streaming broadcast program since joining the organization, helping to build the program into its current status. He has served on the ISC Executive Committee since 2007 and has been active on several committees including Rules, Hall of Fame and the World Tournament. Blair continues to be the editor of the annual ISC Guide and contributes to the social media and web presence for the ISC.
Tom Wagner, Federal Way, WA, is one of the top managers in the history of men’s fastpitch. He won two ISC World Championships with the Seattle Pay n Pak franchise as well as five ASA national championships, and were the first to win both in the same year. He also won two ISF championships as manager of the USA national team. In a game dominated by the top pitchers in the world, Tom’s teams put the ball in play at levels never seen before. His bunt, slap, steal, pitching and defence-oriented teams changed how the game was played. His impact was felt long after his retirement with his players continuing to compete at the highest levels for many years.
The 2027 ISC Hall of Fame Breakfast and Induction Ceremony will be held August 8, 2026 on the opening Sunday of the 2027 ISC World Tournament in Saskatoon, SK.
