ISC Qualifiers Weekend Recap: Fastpitch From Coast to Coast

Fastpitch action heated up last weekend with two major ISC qualifiers on the schedule. In Vancouver, teams battled for a spot in the 2026 ISC World Tournament, while in Au Sable Forks, the prize was a ticket to the 2027 tournament.

Here is how the weekend unfolded.

1. Bob Law Memorial Challenge (Vancouver, BC)

2026 ISC World Tournament Qualifier

The weekend in Vancouver delivered high-stakes, low-scoring drama, culminating in a tight championship run. Ultimately, JB took home the tournament title after edging out the PG River Kings 2–1 in the final game on Sunday afternoon.

  • Semifinal / Elimination Games:
    • PG River Kings def. Vancouver Meralomas Canadians, 5–0
    • JB def. STK Fastball, 4–2
  • Championship (Game 1): PG River Kings def. STK Fastball, 5–4

JB (Tournament Champions)

  • Montero (Pitching): Dominant in the circle to keep opposing bats quiet all weekend.
  • Kilpatrick (Pitching): Provided shutdown relief and starts to guide JB to the title.
  • Villavazo (Hitting): Provided timely, clutch hitting throughout the tournament.
  • Te Wara Bishop (Hitting & Defense): Excelled on both sides of the ball, flashing leather and driving the offense.

PG River Kings (Runners-Up)

  • Tyson Barkman (Pitching) & Dylan Fraser List (Pitching): Handled the heavy lifting in the circle, keeping the River Kings in every game.
  • Nicholas Potskin (Hitting & Defense): Anchored the lineup with stellar defensive plays and consistent hitting.

2. 64th Annual Au Sable Forks Fastpitch Classic

2027 ISC World Tournament Qualifier

Over in New York, The Sandlot Merchants put on a dominant display to capture the tournament championship, cruising to an 8–1 victory over the Kingston Axemen in the final.
