Following the successful conclusion of the 1960s retrospective, the International Softball Congress (ISC) is officially opening the fan vote for the 1970s Best Player, Best Pitcher, and Best Team. This decade remains one of the most competitive eras in fastpitch history, marked by the emergence of legendary talent and the solidified dominance of several powerhouse programs.
Selection Criteria
The finalists for this decade were curated by the ISC 80th Anniversary Selection Committee. To ensure the highest level of integrity, the committee utilized specific benchmarks for player and pitcher eligibility:
- Accumulation of five or more First All-World Awards.
- Receipt of multiple MVP or Top Pitcher honors.
- Overall historical impact as determined by the selection committee.
