Carrol Forbes Foundation
The Foundation
The Carrol Forbes Foundation, established in 1995 in memory of ISC Founder Carrol Forbes (1909-1982), provides funding for youth development programs to “invest in the future” of this great sport of fastball. All income, including unspent interest, dividends and capital gains, will be available to fund youth development activities approved by the CFF committee.
FUNDING AVAILABLE
The CFF will provide up to $1,500 for approved youth tournaments annually. Examples may include clinics, youth tournaments or other approved youth activity.
To apply for funding for a clinic or event, send the appropriate, completed form to CFF Chair Greg Nydick.
CFF Scholarship
Since 2019, the Carrol Forbes Foundation has invested in the development of young men’s fastpitch pitchers by providing funding for pitching clinics, instructional resources, and skill-building opportunities. Over this period, the CFF has contributed approximately $2,000 toward pitching clinics and an additional $3,000 toward instructional video production, helping rising athletes strengthen their mechanics and advance in the sport.
Several pitchers who received support through CFF initiatives have gone on to make significant impacts at ISC events, including:
Cody Gibbons – 2022 ISC II Most Valuable Player with Marchio Sausage
Brad Kilpatrick – Logged 10.1 IP in the 2022 ISC World Tournament with LC Ostrander after competing in ISC II in 2021
Jon Gwizdala – Threw 14 IP with a 2.50 ERA in 2022 with the Midland Explorers after playing in ISC II in 2021
Jerlin Rutt – Recorded 17.2 IP with a 0.79 ERA in 2022 with Nates Auto/Fisher, also an ISC II alumnus (2021)
These examples highlight the Foundation’s impact in supporting athletes as they progress from ISC II competition to performing at the highest levels of the men’s fastpitch game.
