Adam Folkard Voted ISC Best Pitcher of the 2010s

The International Softball Congress is thrilled to announce that Adam Folkard has been voted by fans as the ISC Best Pitcher of the 2010s, receiving an overwhelming 43.7% of the total votes cast. Folkard narrowly edged out fellow pitching legend Sean Cleary (43.1%) in one of the closest fan votes, with Andrew Kirkpatrick (8.7%) finishing third.

This recognition caps a remarkable decade for the Canberra, Australia native, whose dominance on the mound has redefined excellence in modern men’s fastpitch softball.

Historic ISC World Tournament Career

Folkard’s ISC World Tournament statistics are simply extraordinary. With 52 career wins against just 12 losses from 2004 to 2022, he boasts an elite .813 winning percentage that ranks fifth all-time among pitchers with 52 wins. His consistency and longevity place him among the sport’s all-time greats, trailing only legends like Michael White, Peter Meredith, and Andrew Kirkpatrick in total career victories.

Record-Breaking Performances

Throughout his career, Folkard has authored some of the most memorable pitching performances in ISC history:

  • 6 Most Outstanding Pitcher Awards: 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017
  • 4 no-hitters at ISC World Tournaments (2013 twice, 2014, 2019), tied for second-most all-time
  • 2 perfect games in 2013 with the Hill United Chiefs
  • Combined perfect game with Pablo Migliavacca in 2017, Hill United Chiefs
  • 3 combined no-hitters with Pablo Migliavacca (2016, 2017, 2022)
  • 2 combined no-hitters with Justin Schofield (2017, 2018)
  • Most consecutive no-hit innings: 19⅓ innings at Hill United Chiefs in 2013, breaking Dick Brubaker’s 49-year-old record
  • 2 no-hitters in a single tournament with the Hill United Chiefs in 2013
  • 22 strikeouts in a single game ranking among the top all-time performances

Unmatched Winning Streaks

Folkard’s consistency is perhaps best illustrated by his remarkable winning streaks. He recorded 22 consecutive wins from 2013 to 2016, the second-longest streak in ISC history, trailing only Gerald Muizelaar’s 23-game run. This four-year stretch of dominance coincided with his prime years pitching for the Hill United Chiefs.

Team Success and Legacy

Folkard spent the heart of his career with the powerhouse Hill United Chiefs of Six Nations, Ontario, representing them from 2012 through 2021. Prior to that, he pitched for Patsy’s in New York City (2006), the Broken Bow Patsy’s (2009), and the Jarvis Travelers (2010). His tenure with Hill United helped establish the Chiefs as one of the decade’s premier programs.

Adam Folkard’s combination of durability, dominance, and clutch performances under pressure has cemented his legacy as one of the greatest pitchers in ISC history. The International Softball Congress congratulates Adam Folkard on this well-deserved honor and thanks all the fans who participated in celebrating the best of the 2010s.
